Our Story
An immersive independent bookshop in the heart of Sturbridge, MA — where gothic horror, dark academia and New England folklore haunt the same shelves.
Our Story
A sanctuary for the beautifully cursed.
For over thirty years, the book industry has been more than a career — it has been a place of acceptance, a realm that makes the eccentric feel seen and the curious feel heard. The Cursed Page was born out of a desire to return that gift to the reading community. We didn't want to open just another retail store or a transactional online shop. We set out to build an immersive sanctuary.
Nestled inside a historic 19th-century mill at 559 Main Street in Sturbridge, Massachusetts, The Cursed Page is a destination-based independent bookshop designed for those who find comfort in the shadows. Draped in a striking palette of deep black, rich purples, bronze, and uranium green, our space invites you to step out of the ordinary and into a beautifully macabre world tailor-made for your literary identity.
"Throughout my thirty years in this business, the book industry has been a space that accepted me and made me feel truly seen. The Cursed Page is my love letter to that industry, and to the readers who crave a physical space where they can find that same sense of belonging. We didn't want to just open another retail store; we wanted to create an immersive sanctuary. It's a celebration of beautifully crafted books, the rich folklore of New England, and the magic of discovering a story that feels meant for you."
